Various Hands-on Projects Throughout the Year
TLC participates in at least one hands-on project per quarter .
This is in addition to our on-going projects:
* County and State Special Olympic events
* Collection of aluminum pop tops for Ronald McDonald House
* Visiting our Friends at Regis House
Organization of parents, professionals & friends which works toward the development of programs and facilities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Area IV Clubs Projects
As part of Area IV clubs, hold a fundraiser, with our funds going to our District projects of Duke Child Development Center, Special Olympics, and Boys & Girls Home of NC.
Special Olympics—Local And State
Physical fitness, sports training & athletic competition for mentally & physically handicapped. We support our local Athletes and the Area IV hands-on project of feeding the Olympians at the State Games in June. TLC is on the planning & execution committees.
Durham Meals on Wheels
Hot lunches are delivered to aged, blind, disabled, etc
Ronald McDonald House
Pediatric Family Center (a home away from home) for parents and children receiving treatment at Duke University Medical Center.
Ronald McDonald Family Room at Duke Hospital
Club serves as hosts to family members who need a place to relax, to take care of personal needs. TLC mans two shifts a week.
College Scholarship Fund
TLC award—all graduating seniors Durham County School system eligible if application submitted—recipients chosen by committee.
Developmental Disabilities/ Regis House
We enjoy working with our friends at Regis House and the great community thru DDCLP.
